Senior Interior Designer


Gary Lee Partners is searching for a talented and enthusiastic interior designer who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Working closely with a Project Manager, a dedicated Project Team, as well as firm leadership, the senior interior designer will be involved in all stages of a project’s lifecycle, from client-facing interviews through design, documentation, construction administration, and post-close marketing initiatives.

The ideal candidate for this position is a driven, creative designer who is able to coordinate and execute the many different aspects of high-end interior design projects with collaboration from peers and under the tutelage of firm leadership.

Job responsibilities will include:

Preparation of design plans, feasibility studies, presentations, elevations, construction documents, meeting minutes, and other typical project-related documentation
Preparation of Schematic Design and Design Development documents with project team
Project coordination alongside Project Manager to ensure that schedule, budget, and manpower goals are met
Frequent collaboration with junior staff in professional and mentorship roles, providing design and technical direction
Representing the firm in client-facing meetings with Project Manager and/or Principal(s)
Participating in other project and client meetings as required, with the potential for travel
Supporting Project Manager(s) and Principal(s)
Coordination with Project Consultants
Attending industry and client events to support our industry partners and enrich our firm’s professional relationships

The ideal candidate possesses:

Elevated aesthetic and detailed knowledge of materials, color, light, furniture profiles, scale, and architectural elements
An ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
An ability to think creatively and strategically
Meticulous attention to detail and client service-oriented attitude
A team-oriented mentality with the ability to work independently
Foresight to know when to ask for direction, clarification or help
Ability to positively and collaboratively work with different personalities and work styles
Ability to facilitate internal and external meetings
The positive, collaborative attitude necessary to thrive in a boutique, small business studio

Required qualifications:

A professional degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or similar discipline
3-5 years of experience working in an interior design studio or architecture firm with an emphasis on interior design
Experience in managing or coordination of projects ranging from 15,000 – 200,000+ square feet
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite
