GLP believes that a furniture company’s success relies not on beautiful products alone, but also on a succinct vision defining the essence of the products. In 2003, the new owner of Cumberland Furniture hired GLP to help define a new direction for its future product initiatives and branding. After analyzing Cumberland’s market niche, GLP created a fresh palette, recommended the reintroduction of select archival pieces, and designed a new furniture line, the Fortis collection, consisting of executive table desks, lounge and guest seating, sofas, side and coffee tables, and benches. Over the last few years, Cumberland has reemerged as a force in the contract furniture business.
