The Palmolive Building
Chicago, IL USA

This model unit in a historical Chicago landmark building was carefully designed as a marketing tool for the developer to promote sales of lower-level units to sophisticated city buyers. The model is targeted to prospective buyers who appreciate traditional aesthetics, while also enjoying the ‘edge’ of city living.

To do so, traditional furnishings were paired with a minimal design aesthetic. The colors, finishes and design unfold through the unit. The marriage of a historical building with every technological convenience available today reinforces the expression of old tradition meeting modern living.

One major challenge was to create a design that successfully addressed very poor views. This was overcome through well-considered, detailed and designed layers of window coverings.

The image and sophistication of the model unit has served to sell large quantities of condominiums, with buyers expressing a desire for the same aesthetic within their own future home.
