Ventas is a leading REIT in the USA composed of several companies recently brought together through strategic acquisitions.
Like the company, the aesthetic embodies contrast and compromise, privacy and visibility to create a stronger, more dynamic whole. The architectural millwork is dark oak while the veneers and flooring are always light. Ventas’ signature blue or red subtly accent each space.
Ventas’ lease is complex. One floor is sublet from a law firm and must be returned in its original state in 10 years while the other was leased from the landlord. The existing ceiling, lighting, and partition configuration of the sublet were reused. The existing office fronts were removed, sent to storage, and replaced with glass fronts, and dark oak doors and millwork trim that define the Ventas’ aesthetic. The law firm’s existing outlets and devices also remained and were covered with customized Halcon Proximus casegoods.
Mindful of resources, the design employs light harvesting systems and materials such as locally-sourced end grain oak for the flooring and sustainably-harvested fumed oak for the millwork.
The space represents Ventas’ company ethos, and will allow it to return a floor per its lease agreement with minimal waste and added cost.
