When Williams Montgomery & John was looking to relocate their office, they decided–based on the current economic conditions as well as their limited time frame–that it would be most beneficial to retrofit portions of an existing space and reuse available furnishings where applicable.
After assessing a handful of existing office spaces, Williams Montgomery & John opted for a Gary Lee Partners space in the Willis Tower that was originally designed more than 15 years ago. This space, formerly occupied by Investment Firm GTCR, provided the backbone for the environment that Williams Montgomery & John was looking to create in their new home as well as attesting to the longevity they would experience in their own GLP-designed office.
The public areas were redesigned and repositioned throughout the floor plan to better accommodate the company’s work style and persona. A variety of millwork pieces from their previous and current locations were recycled, significantly cutting turn-around time and budget costs. In the end, a fusion of warm woods and cool stones spoke to the traditional yet contemporary personality of Williams Montgomery & John.
